Valentina Vargas, M.S.
Graduate Student
M.S., Rutgers University
B.A., Rutgers University
Valentina is a recent Rutgers graduate, having attained both bachelor's and master's degrees. She has dedicated her time volunteering in hospitals, with the American Red Cross, and working in laboratory settings. Her research during graduate school focused on the alleviation of traumatic brain injuries through diet and more holistic based methods. Upon graduation, Valentina became a laboratory technologist at Labcorp in the Molecular/PCR lab, working directly with SARS-CoV-2. The analytical skills and experiences she gained from her previous work have inspired her to continue being part of the research community. Coming from Colombia as a child, all her experiences have greatly influenced her desire to also pursue a career in medicine in the future. In her spare time, Valentina enjoys cooking and hiking with her Siberian Husky. Following her role as Research Specialist in the Bocarsly Lab, Valentina is now a predoctoral student in the Endocrinology and Animal Behavior program at Rutgers New Brunswick.
